Surprised, Honored, Emotional and Appreciative.
All of these are emotions felt by three educators chosen as Huron Valley Schools’ Teachers of the Year for the 2022-2023 school year.
Superintendent Paul Salah, their principals and several board members surprised the teachers in front of their classrooms recently with the special recognition announcement.

The Huron Valley Schools high school level Teacher of the Year is Anne Zambito from Harbor High School. Zambito teaches English, Language Arts and Video Production. Zambito has been teaching for 16 years.
“She builds strong, lasting connections with her students, and she uses these relationships to motivate them towards their future goals, ” said Harbor High Principal Ben Dowker. “Without these relationships and a relentless passion for what she does, countless Harbor High students would have slipped by without success.”
Teachers of the Year are eligible to become Oakland County Teachers of the Year at their grade level. The county awards are announced in May.
“Congratulations to all of these teachers and their well-deserved honors. We have so many wonderful teachers in the Huron Valley School district that we love to see them get recognition such as this,” said Salah.
